Continuing a tradition started 9 years ago, 15 Tzu Chi Zamboanga volunteers took time out from their busy Christmas preparations last December 23, 2009 to spread Christmas cheers to the children confined at the Zamboanga City Medical Center. The volunteers prepared 105 gift packs consisting of snacks, juice, clothes, toys, candies and balloons for the kids. It was very touching to see kids smiling again with their very worried and stressed-out parents. A very touched parent shed tears of joy upon seeing her sick child smile again. Because of their mounting medical bills, most of the parents can’t afford to buy new clothes, candies and toys even if they want too. It is every Filipino children’s dream to have new toys, candies and new clothes during Christmas and Tzu Chi volunteers were more than happy to do this year after year because for one brief moment the Tzu Chi volunteers were able to share their love and for made them forget their troubles and let kids be kids again...truly a blessed Christmas for everyone!
